this kitchen and temperature-controlled wine storage is a project for prestigious german cabinetmakers, studio becker. the design brief was to demonstrate the maker’s full range of custom capabilities and the precision engineering for which the company is known.
technical highlights include the kitchen backsplash, which is made of plasma glass. with the flip of a switch the backsplash becomes transparent to reveal a hidden wine cellar. upper cabinets are motorized to descend for optimum accessibility. the seamless presentation conceals functional requirements while simplifying access.
